SYMPOSIUM ON SURGICAL ROBOTICS BANQUET

It will take place on Sunday, June 24 evening from 20.00 to 22.30 at the HOSTARIA DELL?ORSO Restaurant, via dei Soldati 25\c, Roma.

The history of the Hostaria has always been tied to the history of the people that have lived here throughout the centuries in trying to unite the passion for cooking, eating and hospitality. It's the place - par excellence -  devoted to good food, to the genuineness of the dishes served, to the warmth of a home. Throughout the centuries - for the people that have lived here and the use of which has been made of the Hostaria up to today - it has always maintained its history and its past as its principal characteristics: once a meeting place and shelter for travellers and pilgrims coming to Rome, it was also a meeting place of the intellectual Rome, that -  during a warm meal, accompanied by a good glass of wine - discussed matters of importance of their time.Ever since history has been the dominant factor at the Hostaria dell'Orso: the same location, the same architecture, only the decoration has been changed, but not in its essential aspects. Today it is a point of reference for many Romans and tourists. The restaurant of the "Hostaria dell'Orso" lies on the first floor of the ancient building: the ideal place to go for a romantic and elegant dinner night. An ample hall, illuminated by soft, indirect lighting, leads to the communicating rooms and on to the veranda, with one of the most beautiful panoramas of Rome.  Here, in fact, an excellent dinner is served offering a view onto the River Tiber, towards St. Peter's and Castel Sant'Angelo.The elegantly furnished rooms, with their ancient frescos - historical testimony of the building dated 1400 - offer you an ample choice of the appropriate surroundings for your evenings and the possibility to effect reservations. It will take place on June 25, Monday evening from 18.30 to 19.30 in the Courtyard of the main conference venue, the Angelicum Congress Center, Largo Angelicum 1, Roma. Complimentary light refreshments and snacks will be available to welcome you at BioRob2012!

 

LUNCH WITH LEADERS  

The Lunch With Leaders (LwL)  will take place during the lunch break on Tuesday, June 26, 13:00 ? 14:00. Please visit the conference website and contact the BioRob Student Co-Chairs (, or ) or the on-site registration desk for further details.

 

BIOROB MEETS GNB COCKTAIL

The Biorob Meets GNB Cocktail will take place on Tuesday, June 26 from 18:00 to 19.00 in the Courtyard of the main conference venue, the Angelicum Congress Center, Largo Angelicum 1, Roma. This will be a unique opportunity to meet many Italian researchers working in the field of Bioengineering, who gather in Rome for the biannual National Congress on Bioengineering (June 27-29). The cocktail is scheduled immediately after the joint BioRob2012 / GNB2012 joint conference session on Frontiers of Biorobotics for Assistance to Humans: Scientific and Technological Challenges (Aula Magna, 16:30 ? 18:00). Complimentary light refreshments and snacks will be available.

 

SOCIAL DINNER

The BioRob2012 Social Dinner will take place on Tuesday, June 26 evening from 20:00 to 22:30 at the Open Colonna Restaurant, via Milano 9\A (up the stairs - Scalinata). The Restaurant is at walking distance (3 minutes) from the main conference venue, on the roof garden of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni (a National Museum for temporary exhibitions) located along via Nazionale. The Open Colonna space offers an eternal habitat for the mind, it is a place that springs from the imagination, is always in the act of becoming and transforming itself, and reflects both our desires and reality. It does not seek to amaze with banal displays of excess, but evokes a sense of requiring interpretation; this environment stimulates all our senses but does not assault them, and is one in which we remain almost suspended between the welcome of an embrace and the frankness of a handshake? CLOSING AND AWARDS CEREMONY

The Closing and Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday evening (June 27) from 18.30 to 19:00 in the Aula Magna of the main conference venue, the Angelicum Congress Center, Largo Angelicum 1, Roma. During this ceremony the Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards will be presented, and final facts about the BioRob 2012 Conference will be announced before the Farewell to next BioRob!
